Chapter 20, Contacts Summary
Even in her drugged state, Mary Bannister knows she is very ill. One night she looks around her room for a phone. Not finding one, she quietly walks down the hall rolling her IV tree with her. Most of the other rooms are empty but she does find a computer in one of the offices. She logs on to her email account and sends a message to her father saying that she is sick and in a hospital but doesn't know the location. A security man, Ben Farmer, discovers that she is missing from her room finding her later still at the computer. She tells him that she just sent an email to her father to let him know she is ill.
