Chapter 19, Searching Summary
Kirilenko contacts a Russian desk officer in Moscow explaining that a former KGB agent is asking to exchange the information he has on former CIA officer John Clark with any information the Russians may have. Unbeknown to the Russians, their "secure line" is tapped by the CIA. The message is sent directly to the CIA Director. John Clark is notified immediately that there is a former KGB agent trying to get information on him. Rainbow recruits Cyril Holt, British Secret Service, for his help in tracking down the Russian agent. The FBI and CIA Directors realize someone within the government must have leaked the information about John Clark and Rainbow.
Popov meets a man at the pub near Hereford. Popov tells the man, who is a plumber, that he is a plumbing equipment salesman. The man agrees to meet Popov again...
