Able to patch into a satellite, Clark and Tawney watch TV coverage of the scene at Bern. Brit Peter Covington, Rainbow 1 Commander, and an experienced hostage negotiator, is not hopeful of a positive outcome. The intruders are already murderers. Chavez learns from the Swiss police official that there are four terrorists who presumably are German. During the drive Chavez is thinking over what lies ahead for his unit. Although the men are strong, brave and highly trained, this is the real thing—blood would inform their accuracy rather than laser beams. The credibility of Rainbow was falling on his shoulders. The team is driven to a secondary school near-by where they don black pullovers with "POLEZEI" on the back. The uniform will enable them to blend in with other law enforcement.
