Chapters 1-7 Summary

Rainbow Road is the third in a series of novels about gay teens, Nelson, Kyle, and Jason. In the previous two books, Jason has come to terms with his sexuality and come out to his friends and teammates, causing him to lose his college basketball scholarship and gaining fame when his story reached the public. Jason and Kyle are lovers, while Nelson is Kyle's best friend.

Chapter 1. Kyle wakes to a call from his boyfriend, Jason. Kyle and Jason have not been able to see one another as much this summer as Kyle would have liked because Kyle has been working to save up money for his first semester at Princeton in the fall. Therefore, Kyle is happy when Jason asks him to come over before work that morning.
