Universe City

The podcast Universe City represents Aled’s mental state. At the beginning of the novel, when he is questioning the life that he wants, the plot is well planned out with an established main character. However, as Aled slips into abuse and depression, Universe City turns into a rambling mess with very little plot and hints at the dark thoughts Aled struggles with. Only when he reclaims his life, and addresses his anxious loneliness, does the podcast return to the lighthearted, supernatural story that Aled can explore without shame.
