Summary
In Chapter 1, the narrator reveals that it was the day Seema spent with Tahera’s children in San Francisco that made her decide to keep her baby.
In Chapter 2, the narrator argues that Seema was testing Tahera when she asked her to serve as an emergency guardian for her baby.
