Summary

The scene opens with Becca and Jason eating lemon squares in Becca’s living room. They begin with awkward small talk about the house and Howie’s job. Becca apologizes that Howie could not join them. Jason addresses the fact that Howie seemed mad at him when he stopped by during the open house. Becca states that Jason simply scared Howie, or rather made him feel uncomfortable. She quickly follows that statement with “Howie’s not mad at you. What happened was an accident. Howie knows that. You know that too, right?” (2.3.53). Jason does not respond and the silence is broken by Taz barking. They proceed to talk about dogs and Becca asks whether Jason has any pets. Jason say no, and then points out the copy of ‘Bleak House’ on the coffee table. He read the same book in his English...
