Summary
You Choose Watson moved off the reservation to British Colombia, where he found work cleaning fishing rigs. He joined a group of Natives camped off the grid and enjoyed telling them fictional stories about his life that drew from stereotypical portrayals of Midwestern Native Americans. There, he changed his name to You Choose What Son. Growing tired of the food, You Choose decided he would move to New York, drawn there by the Mohawk Native Americas.
As Rick Overlooking Horse healed in the VA hospital, he remembered when he and You Choose Watson joined Mina at an “underground” Sundance Ceremony (43). They witnessed men’s sacrificial wounds, and while the former took part in some small way, the latter responded in fear.
