Summary
Eben's depression continues for seven years until one of his sisters suggests that he write a letter to his birth family in case things have changed. He writes an anonymous letter to his birth sister who responds that she and the rest of his birth family would love to meet him. Eben learns more details about his biological parents, Ann and Richard, and his biological siblings, Kathy, David, and Betsy (deceased). He learns that Ann loved him and wanted to keep him, but at sixteen years old, she and Richard had no real way of providing for him. For decades, Ann would wonder about Eben and what had become of his life. Knowing where he came from allows Eben to heal and to throw away the suspicion that he had not been loved by his birth parents. However, this experience does not change...
