Summary
It Has to be You – In mid-February of 2015, the author writes, he and his sons had a conference with one of his key advisors, outlining both a plan for the author to run for president and the ways that that plan could best be implemented. He writes that in previous years, the family had seen Beau as the most likely candidate for president, but now with Beau’s condition deteriorating, the author was told, he says, that it had to be him.
Later, in private conversation, the author spoke with Hunter about Beau’s deterioration and his disappearing will to fight.
