Summary
The Preface is a newspaper article detailing the murder of Kenneth Moore, the founder and principal of Urban Promise Prep. He died on school grounds of a single bullet wound.
In "Nobody: Urban Promise Prep Student," the student says he has heard it rumored that a student brought the gun that killed Moore to school.
In "Keyana Glenn: Anacostia High School Student,” Keyana narrates that she went to confront J.B., angry because he stood her up when he promised he would go to the basketball game with her. When Keyana arrived at school, she saw J.B. covered in blood. He said only that it was not his fault before he ran away. Keyana learned later that Moore had been killed.
