Amelia (Mia) Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo

Mia is the main character of this novel. The novel is written as Mia's journal so the point of view of the story is hers. Mia is a fourteen-year-old freshman at Albert Einstein High School in New York. She describes herself as an Amazon as she is nearly six feet tall, with big feet and hair that looks like a yield sign. She also notes on several occasions that she is flat chested. She is the daughter of single mother Helen Thermopolis.
