Section 5: pages 69-84 Summary
In the limo on the way home from Grandmere's, Mia is irritated that Grandmere is acting like the incident never happened. She tells Grandmere that her friends are picketing, and when she turns on the television, she is surprised to see the news covering Lilly's protest which includes busboys from all over the city. Grandmere comments only on Lilly's clothing because she is impossible. Back at the loft, Mia comes home to find Mom and Mr. Gianini arguing over baby names and about where to buy supplies for Mia's party. Mia puts on headphones and turns on the computer for solace, but Lilly has already sent a mass email to everyone at school about supporting the Jangbu protest.
