The Steadfastness of Family
The steadfastness of family is demonstrated in Priestdaddy by Patricia's continued close and supportive relationship with her parents despite their differing ideologies and belief systems. It is also demonstrated by her continued connection to her childhood faith, which she no longer believes in, but still considers a type of family. Although the politics, belief systems, and ideologies of Patricia's parents contradict her own fundamental beliefs in significant ways, she never cuts ties with them.
