Summary

Chapter 19 begins with Zuri reflecting on her and Darius’ kiss a few moments before getting into the car. She is happy and sees that he feels the same butterflies as her. The pair talk about how they misjudged each other from their initial meeting until now, and Darius admits to playing a role in Ainsley and Janae’s break-up. He told Ainsley he didn’t think Janae was good for him, and Zuri explodes, her butterflies dissipating immediately. She criticizes him and says that a man like Warren understands people like her and her family better than someone like Darius, but Darius warns her that Warren has a sinister past despite the fact that Zuri refuses to believe it.
