Chapters 1-4 Summary
"Killer" is the sixth installment in the "Pretty Little Liars" series, covering four friends' search for their childhood friend's murderer. Alternating among their viewpoints, the book begins with omniscient narration, describing a key day when the girls were in the sixth grade. In this memory, Emily, Hanna, Spencer, and Aria have all separately hidden around Ali's house in the hopes of capturing her part of the time capsule flag, a kind of treasure hunt their school has organized. Ali has bragged of having a piece, but after the girls hear an argument and she emerges from the house, she tells them all to come out because their search is useless; the flag has already been stolen.
