Chapters 21 and 22 Summary
Beth meets with her attorney, Lynda. She asks Lynda about the children being prosecuted. Lynda says under the extenuating circumstances, she doubts a judge would sentence children as young as Jimmy. Beth asks about former children that are now adults and if they could be prosecuted. Lynda says it's possible. Lynda and her husband Jake agree to take Jimmy so Beth can work and finish the article.
Beth calls Maria, an adult now that was a child at the home. Maria has two-year-old twins now and is married. Beth tells Maria it is Beth Sullivan, which was Beth's name before she changed it. She tells Maria she wants to talk to her about Bill and gets Maria to meet her in the park. When Beth and Maria meet, she tells Maria about the story to try to get a quote from...
