Summary

Act Three takes place a week after the events of Act Two. Garry is leaving for Africa the next day so there are various suitcases and trunks on the stage in preparation.

Monica and Garry go through various correspondence together on the sofa. Garry expresses regret that Monica isn’t coming with him to Africa and worries about how he will cope with a temporary secretary while he’s there. Monica asks if Liz is coming to the station to say goodbye and Garry says she isn’t because she is still angry with him. Garry says good night to Fred who leaves. Monica warns Garry not to answer the phone because Roland has been calling a lot. She says good night and leaves. Garry says good night to Miss Erikson who leaves.
