Summary
In Chapter 10, the girls' officer, Mr. Robinson, visited the house months after Lucy's hospitalization. Because the school had said the girls were doing well, Mr. Robinson delayed his visit. However, when Mr. Robinson arrived at the house, he "made brisk arrangements for Patricia to be boarded out" (66). Hilda would remain at the house until she went to Oxford.
Patricia was pleased to be leaving Hilda. She moved in with Miss Leonard. Because Miss Leonard knew her as Praxis, she began using her old name again. She and Miss Leonard grew close. They would talk about the war, about being Jewish, and about staying healthy.
