Summary
Serafine takes Abeo to the cozy house where she lives with her second husband Ottley, but they are having marital problems. When Ottley presents his hand to Abeo, she barely touches him because still feels distress around men. Serafine orders Chinese food for herself and Abeo, but neither of them is hungry. Serafine gives Abeo a photo album filled with photos of happy memories of the two of them. Abeo wants to know who her father is and why Serafine gave her up. Finally, she asks. Serafine lies and tells her he was just some boy named Charles Smith. Abeo tries out his name: Abeo Smith. Serafine adverts her eyes and then tells Abeo that her father does not know about her. Abeo asks if Serafine loved her father and Serafine responds that she did not and she was just a foolish child...
