Kylie and Gillian are looking at the yard and the growth of thorns that has sprung up in the last day. Gillian says that they will just chop it down again, but Kylie knows this will not work. Kylie tells them that they will not be going to the aunts. Antonia tries to argue since she is already packed but Kylie insists they are not going. The girls go outside to look at what is showing through the earth and see that it is a snake skin boot. Antonia begins to pick it up but Gillian stops her.
