Travis O'Hearn
Travis O'Hearn is an ex-seminary student who accidentally bound himself to Catch the Destroyer, a demon. Travis is an intellectual accepted into the seminary at an early age, and in the novel, intellect is a quality of goodness. Travis is also around ninety years old, but he looks like he is in his early twenties, since the demon prevents him from aging. Catch has killed Travis's family, and Travis is wracked with the guilt of all of Catch's murders, although he tries to separate himself from Catch's crimes by rationalizing he is not responsible. Travis has been traveling around the country for years, looking for the Vatican candlesticks containing the incantation that will allow him to send Catch back to hell.
