Park Circus

Bella Baxter lives with Godwin Baxter at 18 Park Circus. The Park Circus house is located in Glasgow, Scotland, where Bella has resided ever since Baxter transformed her via an experimental surgery. In Chapter 3, "The Quarrel," Baxter invites Archie to Park Circus for the first time. Archie describes it a as "a tall, gloomy terrace house," with "a narrow garden," "high walls," "vegetable plots and a small lawn surrounded by a low fence" (22). Although Archie is initially discomfited by the space, he soon grows attached to Park Circus. After meeting Bella, Archie becomes particularly desperate to return to Park Circus whenever possible. He both wants a relationship with Bella and is desperate to learn more about Baxter's work.
