Summary

At the start of the chapter, Ponyboy and his mother arrive in Vienna for Ponyboy’s father’s wedding. Ponyboy is still sober, and tries to “ignore the minibar” as he makes his way through the hotel he is staying at (211). He meets his sister, June, there. June thoughtfully removes all of the alcohol from the fridge in the room and attempts to hide it before Ponyboy comes in, but he eventually does come in and catches her in the act. He is grateful for her attempt. After Ponyboy takes a nap, he goes with June to meet their father and his fiancee, Juliette. The group chats in a park in Vienna before they all go to a bar together. There, Ponyboy finds it difficult to endure the setting without thinking of Gabriel and Baby, wanting to get drunk or high...
