Summary
The narrator takes daily walks in farmlands surrounding her home. She often has to walk along a highway where she must get out of the way of oncoming cars. She is alarmed to come across a young man walking along the same road but in the opposite direction as her. The narrator begins to panic as she realizes that she is all alone with no one to help her if the man decides to violate her in some way. She begins to fantasize about the man raping her and concludes that it might be best to jus get sex over with. The man walks by her without acknowledging her, and the narrator calms down, trying to learn where that urge came from. Cows surrounding her begin to act very strangely.
