Summary

Piranesi prepares for the flood. He gathers supplies and moves the remains of the dead to a place where they will be safe and dry. On the day before the flood, Piranesi finds new items near the vestibule where the Other usually appears. The items include an inflatable boat, a paddle, and a gun. Piranesi deduces that Ketterley brought them there. On the day of the flood, Piranesi goes to the vestibule and sees Ketterley there, inflating the boat. Piranesi approaches to confront Ketterley. When Ketterley realizes that Piranesi now knows the truth of what has happened, Ketterly tries to grab the gun to kill Piranesi. Piranesi kicks the gun across the floor. Sixteen/Raphael appears and says that she has come to rescue Sorensen. The tides begin to rise. Piranesi climbs a nearby statue and tells Raphael to do the same. Meanwhile...
