Summary

The story takes place in a mysterious, endless labyrinth. The protagonist is a man called Piranesi, and he lives in the labyrinth. The labyrinth’s architecture is highly reminiscent of Ancient Greek styles, and it bears many statues and illustrative wall carvings. In some places, Piranesi can see the sky, but the labyrinth’s walls are high, and he has no way to leave. The labyrinth also has various animals and ecosystems. Sometimes, tides affect bodies of water in the labyrinth. Piranesi is very knowledgeable about the labyrinth and its ecologies.
