Sasha Stockton
Sasha Stockton is one of the three protagonists in Pineapple Street. After her marriage to Cord Stockton, she is forced to navigate the privileged world of the New York upper echelon. At the outset of the narrative, Sasha feels frustrated by her in-laws and their passive aggressive rejection of her. Shortly after her marriage, Chip and Tilda offered for her and Cord to move into their family home at Pineapple Street. The expansive Brooklyn limestone is cluttered with their family belongings and Sasha struggles to feel at home there. When she hosts family dinner, Tilda sweeps in with her own dishes and rearranges the table scape.
As the novel progresses, Sasha attempts to connect with Cord’s sisters Georgiana and Darley. She and Darley meet up for lunch in the park and she consoles Georgiana after Brady’s death. However, at their cousin’s wedding, she overhears...
