Chapter 11: To Lose a Whore Summary and Analysis

Inspired by his talk with Sweet Jones, Blood walks into the bedroom and sees Runt smoking marijuana. When she complains about being sick and unable to work, Blood beats her with a wire that leaves scars across her back. When he is finished, he is crying and takes care of her, putting her in the tub and soothing her slashes. She gets up afterwards, getting dressed. When she does not return by 7am the next morning, Blood is sure he has chased her off for good and gets depressed. In a weak moment, he tells himself he will call Mama to tell her he is fine.
