Piglet
Piglet is the main character of the novel. Her parents are Linda and John, and her sister is Franny. Piglet’s given name is Pippa, but none of the characters refer to her by this name until the end of Part 3. Instead, most people call Piglet by her childhood nickname, given to her because she did not like to “leave a table until every bite” was eaten (68). In the narrative present, Piglet is living in her new house in Oxford with her fiancé Kit. She works as a food editor at Fork House where she edits cookbooks. Piglet has a deep knowledge of and passion for the culinary arts, which is reflected in how she eats and cooks.
