Summary

In Part 1, “4 Days,” Piglet accidentally burns the sausages she is making while “deleting Margot’s voice notes” (147). They have not talked since Margot had Layla. Piglet tries not to think about the role she thought she would play in Margot’s family. She wrongly predicted Margot’s response to Kit’s secret and feels frustrated by her recent messages. Piglet also fears that “the lunch at Cecelia and Richard’s” broke something between her and Kit (149). Kit appears, joining Piglet on the kitchen floor. They agree to go through with the wedding. Piglet reminds herself she has only “herself to blame” (151).
