Harrison

Harrison, referred to as Harri throughout Pigeon English, is the main character and the first person narrator of the novel. Harri is 11 years old and has just moved to England with his family from Ghana. He, his mother and father, his grandmother, and his sisters Lydia and Agnes, live in an urban housing estate. After moving to the flats and into their building, Copenhagen House, Harri gradually orients to his new life. He is fascinated not only by his surroundings, but by his neighbors and their litany of unfamiliar activities and habits. The people in his new community not only speak differently from him, but fill their time in ways that are foreign to Harri.
