Summary

In “May,” on the day of the carnival, Harri watched everyone dance in the rain. He liked the men on stilts and the jugglers. When it was Dance Club’s turn, Harri hoped Miquita would fall. Lydia got all of “the moves right” (108).

Harri won binoculars with his raffle ticket (108). When he looked through them, he saw his pigeon “sitting on the roof” (109). Everyone’s mood changed when a police van passed.
