Summary
Chapter 52 begins with “perseverar,” which means “to preserve.” Jade and Maxine take advantage of nice weather to go for a walk. Jade reveals the difficult place her friendship has reached with Sam. Maxine says she should talk to Sam about her feelings, but Jade says the “point of friendship is to be able to be yourself, to just exist with someone who gets you while you get them” (195).
