Section 15: Chapter 17 and Fourteenth Picture Summary

In chapter seventeen, Steven talks the entire time that Hollis phones Beatrice. Beatrice answers the phone with worry because she has been worried about Josie since she could not reach them for days. Hollis assures Beatrice that Josie is safely with her as Steven's voice in her head tells her she may have never come home if she had not made this mess. Hollis tells Beatrice that Josie wants to come home, but the agency will not let her live alone and they want to send Hollis somewhere else.
