Section 10: Chapter 11 and Tenth Picture Summary
In chapter eleven, Hollis roams through the house the next day, noting that the picture of her still hangs on the guestroom wall as though she still belongs with them. As she looks in Steven's room, Josie announces that she found boots and is going to wear them, but Hollis objects that it is too cold out. She follows Josie outside as Josie becomes bewildered and asks why they are not at home and asks where Beatrice is. Hollis leads Josie inside, wraps her in Izzy's robe, and sits with her in front of the fireplace until they sleep again. In the morning, she hears the faint buzzing sounds in the woods, as though someone is sawing, but the noises fade. Hollis makes breakfast, thinking she will have to pay Izzy back for this too...
