Summary
In the final section, "Looks Like We're Still in Business," Reinhardt and Schary finalize narration on The Red Badge. A few weeks later, Ross and Reinhardt attend the first reshowing of The Red Badge with narration. On the way, Reinhardt remarks on Schary's good nature. Despite Reinhardt's belief in the narration, the audience response is still poor. Even Schary begins saying the picture has no story. Booth and others also change their opinions. Schary suggests reconfiguring the scene progression to achieve a more obvious arc. Everyone agrees they must alter the music and cut the gruesome scenes.
In the car, Reinhardt laments the company's reaction. They pass Mayer walking on the street; he did not attend the preview. Reinhardt does not care as Mayer plans to leave MGM. The next day, Reinhardt sends two preview cards to Schary, attempting...
