Part Two: Phantoms; Chapters 41-45 Summary

In the cave, Jeter tells Fletcher Kale that the creature in the well is Lucifer and they are his disciples. The gang member tells Kale that he found the creature after being herded into the cave by the four Jake Johnson's just as Kale had. Jeter has been sitting in the cave for two days, watching Lucifer and listening to the creature explain things to him. Kale feels something like a religious rapture when Jeter tells him that Lucifer is their god and they will be protected forever if they do his work.
