Summary

On “Saturday,” Corbin brought Pew the bag that Hilda had sent with him. It contained a dress, a pair of pants, and a thick white bathrobe. Corbin told Pew he assumed Pew was supposed to choose what to wear. He commented that the bathrobe would be useful. Pew put on the white bathrobe and cinched it around his waist. Corbin said he was part of the group the organized the festival, that he was so certain at that time it was what the people needed. He said he was not so certain any more.

One of Corbin’s grandchildren joined him and Pew on the front porch. She asked of Pew “Why does she look like that?” (194). After Corbin took the child inside for breakfast, Corbin continued talking about the festival. He said it became something that he never intended it to become. He...
