Part 2: Chapters 11-15 Summary

Momma's Shadow. A year and a half after escaping from the attic and coming to Dr. Paul, Catherine has discovered that the real world is nothing like what she imagined it would be. Catherine continues to add to her mother's list of wrongs and follow her movements through the gossip pages in the newspapers. Once, while walking through Greenglenna, Catherine sees her mother walking with a friend. Catherine follows them, filled with hatred, but her mother never notices her.

A Birthday Gift. On Dr. Paul's birthday, Catherine plans a nice dinner, but Dr. Paul is late getting home. When he finally arrives, Catherine yells at him for his inconsideration before joining him for dinner. They discuss a woman Dr. Paul is rumored to be seeing and Catherine's interest in Julian, as well as the mustache Dr. Paul has grown...
