Chapter 3 Summary
After school, Kate's dad picks her up. They go home, so Kate can change and make dinner to take to the mall with her. Kate thinks her dad acts like a child and how her mom always allows him to do so. This includes calling in sick to his old job so he could finish a video game and quitting his job to sell infomercial vitamins. After the mall closes, they haven't sold anything and the register is missing $20 from the night before because dad and Todd, her brother, forgot to eat breakfast before coming to the mall that morning. They arrive home to find mom on the phone with grandma and making pancakes for her father.
