Ariana and Kaitlynn are so greedy that each commits murder in order to achieve their goals. Ariana reveals that she had wandered through the campus, stealing a great deal of money prior to the opening of this book, in order to ensure that Kaitlynn had the money to leave the country. Ariana kills a young girl and assumes her identity in order to live her affluent lifestyle. Kaitlynn points out to Ariana that she's now comfortable with a trust fund and a wealthy grandmother willing to pay her way through life - all things Kaitlynn wants for herself. Both girls are ruthless when it comes to having luxuries and, ironically, Ariana believes she's worked to get where she is.
