Summary

In Chapter 4, Izzy is now three weeks into her pregnancy. She has told her father, who was at first angered and then turned to acceptance. Izzy refuses to reveal the father to anyone. Izzy takes on cooking at Wild Hog with Tannehill, who goes through great lengths to make sure she is safe and well-cared for while at work. Hal Jackson’s mother comes in to tell Izzy that he has committed suicide. Jackson’s mother apologizes to Izzy for everything that he put her through, but also explains their family cannot afford to be embarrassed anymore - and so wants to give Izzy a lump sum of money and have her meet with her husband, a prominent OB/GYN who can help get Izzy into a research experiment which will provide her with an income.
