Chapters 16-24 Summary

In Chapter 16, Alex waits at the library for hours for Brittany to meet him. Finally Alex goes to Brittany's house and is angered when her mother treats him badly.

In Chapter 17, Brittany feels bad about standing Alex up. Brittany calls Alex, but he is not home so she leaves a message.

In Chapter 18, Alex goes to the warehouse where the Bloods hang out and drinks too much. Alex later finds himself out on the beach with Carmen even though he no longer wants to be involved with her because she cheated on him. However, Alex is so angry at the way Brittany and her mother treated him that he allows Carmen to seduce him with her body and her drugs.
