Chapter 52

Isaac holds Lin until she falls asleep, then hears someone rapping on the door. Clutching his pistol, he opens the door to discover another Cymek Garuda, like Yagharek. She implores him not to give Yagharek new wings because he is guilty of raping her. Isaac considers her request and decides to cancel his contract with Yagharek. Isaac, Lin and Derkhan leave the building and leave New Crobuzon, walking southwards along the railroad tracks to an unknown destination and new lives.

Judgment, Part VIII Analysis

After all the huffing and puffing, flame-throwing, shooting and torture, the resolution of this hyper-developed novel is sweet indeed.
