Chapters 46-51

A nude Isaac is roused from sleep beside the Canker River by Yagharek. He slips into the fetid water and finds a small boat, where he paddles to the center of the water to meet the Weaver. With only his head protruding from the river, the Weaver tells Isaac he was unsuccessful in killing the moths. Isaac returns to the Construct Council to retrieve his crisis engine. The construct suggests that Isaac wire him to the machine, turn on his crisis engine,and let him attack the slake moths. Isaac agrees and gives him a list of materials needed for the job. He says they must connect all the wiring and have the machine ready by 6 p.m. at Perdido Street Station, the focal point of all transportation and communication in New Crobuzon.
