Summary

Percy heard the sound of squawking birds outside his fifth-period science class on the Lower East Side of New York City. He looked out the window. Clarisse – whom he knew from demigod camp – was battling large vicious ravens. He made an excuse to leave class and ran out to help. She was surprised to see him. She didn’t know she was at his school. He uncapped his pen which grew into a three-foot-long bronze sword he called Riptide. He joined Clarisse in the battle, slashing and defeating the ravens. They had a few bruises and scratches; so, Percy shared a bit of ambrosia that he always carried with him. Their wounds soon healed.
