Alternate High

Alternate High, or the school that Percy attends, is a representation of the way his life is divided between the ‘normal’ and the ‘divine’. At school, Percy is a human just trying to graduate and move on with his life. Yet, his existence as a demigod forever affects his life, even in situations when it shouldn’t. At Alternate High, for example, Eudora- a sea spirit- takes the place of his guidance counselor and constantly flushes him out of the school in magical ways that no human would ever experience. In the end, the school acts as a reminder that he will never have a truly normal human life.
