Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson is the main protagonist and narrator of the novel. As the son of Poseidon, Percy has incredible powers over water, though he is only shown using it when his life is threatened by gods like Elisson and Gary. Because of his demigod nature, Percy has faced many dangerous quests and evils throughout his lifetime; something that he has come to accept while simultaneously imagining what a normal life would have been like. His major goal throughout the novel is to complete Ganymede’s quest to obtain one of three divine letters of recommendation so that Percy can go to college with his girlfriend, Annabeth, who he imagines spending the rest of his life with.

As a narrator, Percy is sarcastic and witty, but also thoughtful and contemplative. He acknowledges his own shortcomings and fears while simultaneously reminiscing on his childhood and pondering his dreams. Furthermore...
