Summary

In Chapter 28: “It Starts Raining Toys” Gary is stunned by the hug while Percy himself tries to imagine his future life with Annabeth. When the god lets go, he admits that no one ever embraces old age and realizes Percy is far too young to die. Percy confirms that he has no interest in drinking from the chalice and Gary returns it, saying that Percy has given him hope. As he leaves, a Hula-Hoop falls out of the sky and Annabeth recognizes it as a symbol of Ganymede and his eternal youth. Inside, she finds a note informing them that Ganymede is stuck on Olympus because Zeus called his family over for brunch.

As Percy discusses the horrors of brunch in Chapter 29: “I Teeter on the Precipice of Mount Brunch,” they realize that Percy is the only one who can deliver the cup...
